The "Shurovo Hillfort" Museum is part of the tourist complex at the northern edge of Suzdal, the reconstruction of an ancient Slavic settlement. It appeared thanks to the scenery of the movie "Tsar" about Ivan the Terrible by the popular Russian film director Pavel Lungin.
There is a wooden hut in the "Shurovo Hillfort" Museum with a restored medieval interior, with an earthen floor, a mud stove, a spindle, a spinning wheel and a grain mill. Moreover, you can look at the forge, mill, granary and barns, as well as a small farmyard with cows, goats, horses, pigs and rabbits. The museum hosts master classes in archery, sword fighting and bread baking. The guests are offered dishes of the field kitchen of the Old Russian squad, with vegetables, dairy products and eggs of their own production. It will be interesting to learn everything about the agricultural work cycle and even try to weed the beds, milk the cows or bake bread in a mud stove. The museum has also a collection of boats built according to ancient technologies.
