The Shlisselburg History Museum is located in one of the buildings on the Fabrichny (Factory) Island. This is one of the youngest exhibit areas in the Leningrad Region. There is no permanent exposition in the museum. Instead, temporary thematic exhibitions are held here annually. They are dedicated to the memorial events in the history of the town: the battles for Oreshek Fortress, various battles during the Great Patriotic War and famous historical characters, people who once lived in the town.
Employees of the Shlisselburg History Museum conduct interesting sight-seeing tours and enthusiastically tell about each house and each street. The museum regularly organizes master classes of various crafts. Here you can learn how to needlepoint, work on a potter’s wheel or knit a ritual doll.
