One of the most interesting museums of Russia is the Perm State Art Gallery. It contains more than 50 thousand different works from ancient times to the present day. The collection was built gradually, and the gallery took its current shape in 1922. Historians, who studied the peculiar features of the Siberian pictorial art, weaving, wood carving and other crafts, permanently visited the neighboring villages, collecting unique showpieces.
The Perm Art Gallery exhibits the famous collection of Stroganov icons of the XVI-XVII centuries, paintings by local artists and Vereschagin brothers. The Gallery also attracts visitors by its amazing collection of wooden sculptures "Perm Gods", which occupies several rooms of the gallery. In addition to the Russian pieces of art, here you can also find interesting exhibits from China and Southeast Asia.
