The National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan was founded in 1864. Its collections have constantly expanded. Now there are four museum departments in the strictly classical building of the former peasant bank: ethnography, archeology, nature and history of the region.
It will be interesting both for children and adults in the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan: there are stuffed birds and animals of all animals and birds inhabiting at the territory of Bashkortostan, as well as a large aquarium with live fish from local rivers. There is also the legendary Salavat Yulayev's sword in the museum. There is a hall dedicated to the famous Burzyan honey and a unique numismatics hall where one can see rare “flake”-coins, issued during the reign of Tsar Ivan III.
