Salavat Yulayev Monument as the emblem of the city
In the center of Ufa on a high hill stands a monument to Salavat Yulayev - a national Bashkir hero. The largest equestrian monument in Europe, it is deservedly considered the emblem of Ufa. The majestic figure of Salavat, who calls on his people to support Yemelyan Pugachev's rebellion, is depicted on the arms of the republic.
Salavat Yulayev Monument is surrounded by beautiful fountains with illumination. A picturesque view of the Belaya River opens up from the hill where it is installed. This is the place for celebrations and entertainment. Anyway, the story of how one of the commanders of the punitive tsarist troops went over to the side of a peasant rebel, still finds a lively response in the hearts of the Bashkir people.
