Lenina Street is included in the famous "Green Line" - a pedestrian route along the old center of Ulan-Ude. It begins in the Revolution Square, where earlier the famous shopping malls were located. And before them the noisy and colorful Verkhneudinsk fairs were functioning at this place, where peasants and craftsmen from the neighboring Buryat villages gathered.
Today the Museum of History of Ulan-Ude is, in particular, located on the Lenina Street, which is worth visiting and getting acquainted with the history of the city. Those who want to know better about local nature can visit Buryatia Nature Museum. One can also take a picture at a beautiful fountain on the street, buy souvenirs and admire the ancient buildings of the XVIII century. There is an opinion among the townspeople that one of the most beautiful views of the old city center opens through the Triumph Arch "Tsar's Gate". It was installed in Ulan-Ude at the end of the 19th century in honor of the arrival of the future Emperor Nicholas II. In the Soviet years the construction was destroyed, and only in 2006 the arch was rebuilt. The copy is larger than the original, but all the details of the arch are exactly the same as they were at the end of the 19th century.
