​​Lenina Square in Ivanovo has changed many names over the period of its existence. It was Posadskaya, Voznesenskaya, it was also bearing the name of the Soviet Republic and Central. Since 1965 the square is adorned with a monument to the leader of the world proletariat. An amazing house-ship, an architectural monument of federal significance and a vivid example of constructivism of the 1920s-1930s stands not far from the square.
The house-ship was built in 1929-30 for servicemen and workers of Ivanovo. The romantic name of the house was not accidental. A revolutionary romantic meaning is concluded in its every detail, which is easy to read. The bow of the ship is a rounded wall, the stern is an eight-story tower, and the decks are galleries of the balconies. Even a solid glazing of the first floor has a meaning: the glass like water separates the "ship" from the sidewalk. The house has never been repaired for 90 years and is now in an emergency condition. Internal wooden floor requires replacement. But it still remains one of the most original examples of constructivism.
