The House of Merchant Tetyushinov in Astrakhan has been pleasing citizens and visitors of the city for 150 years. This elegant log house with a wide terrace, cozy front room and carved window casings was built in 1872 by a rich merchant Grigory Tetyushinov. Since 2010, an unusual museum and cultural center has been working in this unique house.
Visitors to the museum and cultural center are welcomed personally by the «merchant», the owner of the house, as well as by his «spouse» and «daughter.» They ask over, show to the study and the living room, treat to tea and sweets, offer to play an old piano and view the family relics: things of the XIX century, most of which were donated to the museum by the city residents. The house often hosts concerts of folklore groups and interactive classes. Here in the workshop you can learn the secrets of Russian craftsmen and make a souvenir of cloth or bulrush with your own hands.
