The wooden building of the House-Museum of Lenin in Vyborg is a happenstance participant of the history-essential events. In autumn of 1917, Vladimir Lenin hided here from the Provisional Government, and just from here he went to Petrograd to make a revolution. The house was decided to be turned into a museum in 1947, but it was opened only 11 years later.
The house where the Museum of Lenin is now located belonged to the family of Haikonen-Latukka, Finnish workers who were friends with Lenin. Their descendants helped to restore the furnishing in the house, as it was in 1917. The basis of the exposition is the original elements of the interior of the «Leninist» period, including the furnishings of the office where Vladimir Ilyich worked, as well as photographs and documents of the house owners. Although original exhibit items are few in number, but the exposition is offset by an extended excursion, without which visiting the museum is impossible. Exhibitions dedicated to the history of Vyborg of the early XX century create a historical context, which is important for understanding the era.
