The elegant sky-blue building in Lenin Street is the famous "House with Figures". The unusual mansion in Art Nouveau style was built in the late XIX century. It belonged to the rich Perm merchant Sergey Gribushin. The house was notable for its massive walls made of three layers: the outside and inside walls were brick-built, and a beam from Siberian larch stood in the middle. This technology was used at that time for thermal protection.
Gribushin House is considered one of the most beautiful architectural monuments of Perm. It looks especially picturesque in winter, when the blue tones of the house harmonize with the snow mantle. The building around the perimeter is decorated with stucco reliefs with Baroque elements: here you can find notorious angels, rose wreaths and a rich tracery. Some historians claim that it is Gribushin House which was described in the famous novel "Doctor Zhivago" by Boris Pasternak and was called "The House with Figures."
