Virtually no wedding in Irkutsk can go without photo sessions at the Constitution Square. Actually, there is a Wedding Palace here, and the square itself is very photogenic: it is located on a hillside, and its inhomogeneous relief is successfully disguised by a cascade of fountains.
Near the Constitution Square there is the estate of the former Mayor Sukachev, turned into a museum. The exposition of the museum acquaints with the life and activity of this person as a city administrator and with the atmosphere of the intellectual’s house in the XIX century. Here you will also learn that Vladimir Sukachev was a collector of an art gallery, being the first outside the Urals. His collection, which is exhibited here, includes the canvases by Aivazovsky, Polonsky and Western European paintings.
