The stone Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in Krasnoyarsk had several wooden predecessors, however, the fires of the XVIII century have left virtually nothing of them. Only in 1795 a new stone church in the Siberian baroque style was built in the city. It was designed by masters from Yeniseisk, a recognized center of regional architecture of the time.
The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin is the oldest stone building in the city. It is richly decorated with stucco, and bas-reliefs, with the hipped dome that is characteristic of Russian architecture, topped with golden cupola. The temple is well preserved. Therefore, it is definitely worth seeing.
