In 1957 pavilions of the regional exhibition were built in the factory area of Vladimir. And in 1959 a park of the 850th anniversary of Vladimir was built on the site of the exhibition, which in 2003 was renamed the Central Park of Culture and Recreation.
There is much greenery in the Central Park in the warm season. Linden, birch, ash, poplar, maple, larch grow, horse chestnut and Manchurian nut can be found here. The fountain, that in winter transforms into an illuminated tree, is located on the central square in front of the cultural and entertainment center «Galera». In 2008 Polaris Ice Palace was opened in the park - the first in Russia indoor ice rink with artificial ice. After the reconstruction in 2015 a 50-meter Ferris wheel with closed cabs appeared here.
