The ancient cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul stands out against other Perm churches. This modest and fundamental building was built in the city in 1764, and it was the first stone church in Perm. It is worth visiting if you want to look at the Russian baroque sample of architecture of the XVIII century.
In Soviet times, the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul was devastated. Divine services were resumed here only in the late twentieth century and the walls of the church, richly decorated in olden days, were restored. Today the cathedral, as before, calls the Believers to prayer by the ringing of bells. In summer, the temple area is especially beautiful due to the greenery and flower gardens.
