The Empire style and neo-Byzantine dome are peculiar to the Cathedral of Saint Righteous Warrior Feodor Ushakov in Saransk. The cathedral was opened to parishioners in 2006 and is unique, as it is the only church in the world for the canonized sailor! Admiral Ushakov is known for the fact that during his maritime career he did not lose a single ship, and not one of his subordinates from a sailor to an officer was captured!

Light and airy Feodor Ushakov's cathedral is crowned with a large dome 62 meters high. The bell-tower has 12 multi-toned bells, and inside the cathedral one can see a rivet gilded iconostasis of valuable wood made in Saratov. There is a small observation deck in the cathedral 40-meter height from where the amazing panorama of Saransk opens. A monument to Feodor Ushakov, standing on the square in front of the cathedral, is also visible from the site.
