The Lagerny (Camp) Garden is a corner of the relic nature in the center of Tomsk. A mammoth skeleton was found here at the end of the XIX century. The garden received its name from the summer camps of the Tomsk garrison. The infantry regiments have stationed here since the XVIII century. And in the twentieth century they started organizing folk festivities in the forest planted by soldiers.
In 1979 a memorial to the soldiers and workers of the rear was created in the Lagerny Garden: Motherland gives arms to her son-soldier, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Eternal Flame is near it. According to an old tradition, on the wedding day the newlyweds come to the monument to lay flowers. There are two staircases leading from the garden to the water. At the very edge of the water are an amusement park and a concert platform.
