Antony Dymsky Holy Trinity Monastery on the Lake Dymskoe (Svyatoe)

Antony Dymsky Holy Trinity Monastery in Krasny Bronevik urban settlement of the Leningrad Oblast (region) is a very ancient and significant monastery for Russia, which is now being actively restored. Like many centuries ago, today as well the monastic brotherhood does not have a rich decoration of the church walls, but there is a place for prayer. And this is already a lot, as Saint Antony Dymsky, who led the ascetic way of life, is an example for imitation for the monks.

Over the eight centuries of its history, the Antony Dymsky Holy Trinity Monastery was destroyed thrice: in the 15th century — by the Tatars, in the 17th century — by the Swedes and in the 20th century — by the Soviet authorities. To save the relics of the monastery from plunder, they were thrown into the lake, which was later called Svyatoe (Saint). The restoration of the monastery began in 1994 when a cross was established in the Svyatoe Lake. Today monastic life flows monotonously in the monastery. The relics of the Saint Antony Dymsky are kept in the Kazan temple.

During the Soviet era the brick factory was located on the territory of the monastery. And today bricks can be seen everywhere on the metochion. They are used for the reconstruction of the temple, but for now all those who wish sign their names on the bricks. A chapel was built on the bank of the Svyatoe Lake in 2011. On the day of bringing to mind the saint on July 7 after the service many pilgrims come here to worship the cross established in the lake and to plunge into the water for the purification of sins. It is also interesting to visit the monastery on January 30, the day of the Name Day of Antony Dymsky. Particularly selfless worshipers are dipped in the font in winter.
