Amursky Boulevard is a favorite promenade of Khabarovsk residents and guests of the city. It was designed in the XIX century. According to the plan of the City Duma, work on its arrangement had to begin in 1903, but the lack of funds prevented it. A lot of money was needed, as Chardymovka river was running at the place of the current boulevard. In the 30-s of the XX century the townspeople walked here along wooden sidewalks, and a ditch with sewage was next to them. Only in 1958 they started really equipping the Amursky Boulevard and hiding the river in the pipe.
The pedestrian part of the Amursky Boulevard is decorated with flowers, and on both sides are administrative and residential buildings. Attention is drawn on the boulevard at an unusual and bright composition, consisting of two musical instruments - a Russian balalayka and a Chinese pipa. This giant sculpture is called "Song of Friendship". It was put here in 2014 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the partnership between Russian Khabarovsk and Chinese Harbin.
