The 130th Quarter was recreated in the city by 2011, when the 350th anniversary of Irkutsk was celebrated. The authorities of the city wanted first of all to preserve the existing monuments of architecture rather than just formally replicate the historical buildings. Part of the wooden buildings in the quarter (it is sometimes called Irkutsk Sloboda) have been carefully reconstructed, and some are recreated according to old drawings and photos in place of the dilapidated constructions and represent an ideal stylization.
There are several notable historical and architectural monuments in the 130th Quarter. A number of objects have been turned into museums. So, the former residential buildings house a Museum of the History of the East-Siberian Railway and a Handicraft Farmstead. Here there are also boutiques, restaurants and a Shopping Mall "Modny Kvartal". The quarter itself can also boast of a mystical place - a metal disk on the road with an inscription "Irkutsk 350 years". To make your wish come true, just make a wish, stand on the disk, spin three times counter-clockwise and throw a coin.
