The wildlife garden in Furth im Wald had been created for more than 20 years. It opened in 1990 in the town-adjacent part of the Bavarian Forest (Bayerischer Wald). The garden area is huge - more than 100 thousand sq.m, and over 500 people are involved in its upkeep. Many of them are guides in the garden. Their task is to show the nature to adults and children in its original kind, untouched by humans. Everything necessary is provided here for the habitation of various animals and growing of most diverse plants.
The garden also has a large underground panoramic aquarium. You can watch the underwater life of the natural reservoir, located in the territory of the garden. You will also be told about the history of the Bavarian forest, its inhabitants, environmental programs, which are implemented in the town and its vicinity. The garden is open to visitors from April (more precisely from Easter) to October.
