The museum of Tübingen occupies the building of the former town granary, which consists of two old half-timbered houses joined together. Besides the main exhibition, which tells about the town history, the museum exhibits a collection of works of Lotte Reiniger, a famous animator, who worked in the technique of a silhouette film. She shot the first feature-length animated film "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" ten years before the appearance of Disney's "Snow White". The silhouettes for each frame, which counted about 100 thousand, were scissored out by Reiniger from paper. Also, the museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions devoted to famous people, historical dates, the general history of art and culture.
