If you are not a climber, you can get to the Zugspitze only by a specialized transport-by the Bavarian Zugspitze Railway (Zugspitzbahn) from Germany and the cable car from the Austrian side. The temperature difference at the top and bottom of the nearly three-kilometer mountain can reach up to 20 degrees! Therefore, even in the summer it is better to take a jacket and scarf. All efforts will be rewarded here: from the observation deck at a height of 2962 meters you can see not only Germany and Austria, but also Switzerland with Italy. From the funicular station you can go a few meters down and wander through the gently sloping trails.
