The German Tool Museum in Remscheid exhibits thelargest collection of tools from the Stone Age to the present day. The museum wasopened in 1967 and is dedicated to the development of technologies and thespread of weapons throughout Germany, however, the emphasis here is laid on thedevelopment of industry in Remscheid.
The center ofthe exhibition of the German Tool Museum is a powerful steam engine of 1907 witha flywheel of four-meter in diameter, which put in motion several machines atonce. Here you can see the first electric furnace, which was first used at theRichard Lindberg steelworks in 1906.
