The German Roentgen Museum is dedicated to theX-ray inventor Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen. He was born in 1845 in the family of a textilemanufacturer in Lennep. In 1895, while working in the University of Wurzburg,he discovered the rays, which are currently known as Roentgen rays or X-rays.As a result, Roentgen has become the first Nobel Laureate in Physics.
Sincethe discovery of the Roentgen Museum in 1932, its collection has been permanentlyreplenished as the scope of X-rays application expanded. The museum currentlyexhibits only a third of the collection.
