The red spire, overlooking the old town center of Frankfurtan der Oder, belongs to the ancient St. Gertrude’s Church. The temple was builtin the second half of the XVI century by the local guild of tailors. Since thenthe building had been frequently rebuilt and remodeled in different stylesuntil in 1865 it became a sample of the neo-Gothic architecture.
In St.Gertrude's Church you can still hear the magical sounds of the original antiqueorgan and admire the miraculously survived objects of religious art - abaptismal font and a fancy-framed altar. The huge 120 centimeters-high bronzecandlesticks of the XVI century are the temple’s real attraction.
