St. George Chapel is one of the three medieval chapels having beenpreserved in Neubrandenburg. This is a sample of the XIV century brick Gothicwith a pointed tower and graceful arches.
In ancient times, there was an almshouse under thechapel for the lepers and seriously ill citizens. Later, a nursing home wasopened there in the XVIII century. The chapel was almost completely destroyedduring World War II. No frescoes, stained-glass windows of the XIV century or a carved altar werepreserved. The chapel was restored in 1994, and currently holiday divine servicesare sometimes held there.
