Schellenberg Castle of the XII century belonged tovarious noble families and was reconstructed several times. In the XVII centuryit was a baroque manor with a corner tower transformed into a dwelling house: ithas been preserved in this way to this day.
The castle is acomplex of buildings of different times: the two-storey tower complex, severalresidential buildings of different styles and outbuildings. In the twentiethcentury, Schellenberg Castle was used as an orphanage, as a Catholic society ofhelp for women and children, as a police school. Now the castle premises arerented out for offices.
