The Rhinish Regional Museum in Trier is one of the most important in Germany. It contains the most valuable artifacts from the history and ethnography of the city and the region, among which are Celtic tombs and early tools of prehistoric humans. But the biggest pride of the museum is the Roman objects d’art. The mosaic collection, which is one of a kind in Northern Europe, as well as gold bars discovered relatively recently - in 1993 – are perhaps the most interesting exhibits in the museum. Children will certainly love the multimedia show "In the Realm of Shadows". In addition, the museum exhibits the miraculously survived original stained-glass window of the Trier Cathedral and many statues of Romanesque and Gothic periods, taken from buildings at different times.
