The new town hall is called so due to a habit. Infact it is almost 300 years old. The luxurious for the 18th centurybuilding was built as a family residence by the local nobleman Gottlieb vonPalm. Elements of decorations developed with the participation of the formerowner remind about him even today – decorations in the shape of shells forwindows, curved pediments and an elegant balcony. In 1850 the owners sold thehouse, and the town authorities moved here from the Old Town Hall situated onthe opposite side. They still occupy the building today. The initial interiorswere not preserved, however ceiling stucco work in rococo style has been kept.
