The Movie Park in Bottrop was opened in June 1996. It was not created from the scratch. Previously, there was Traumlandpark amusement park, which in turn had replaced the even earlier Märchenwald Amusement Park. Warner Bros company that opened the new park soon sold its rights to another company. However, the thematic focus of Warner Bros and the name was kept for some time. Only in 2004, Warner Bros theme gave way to 20th Century Fox, MGM and Nickelodeon production companies.
The Movie Park is divided into five zones, each with its own name: Hollywood Street Set, Streets of New York, Nickland, The Old West, Santa Monica Pier. In each of them the visitor can plunge into the world of a branch of cinema and animation using a variety of rides and simulators. Halloween Horror Fest - an annual festival held in the park during Halloween –is worth a special mention. During it the visitors are entertained by more than 250 characters, dressed and made up as heroes of the most famous horror films and thrillers.
