In the early nineties of the twentieth century the Max Reger-Hall – a music center with concert and conference rooms appeared in Weiden. Max Reger, a composer and teacher who lived in his youth in Weiden, and then moved to Munich is very much honoured in Weiden.
Concerts are given and music is played in his honor all year round. Weiden is even called Max Reger’s city (Max-Reger-Stadt Weiden). So it is not surprising that one of the main cultural centers of Weiden (along with the cultural center of Hans Bauer, named after the mayor of Weiden) is named after the famous composer. There is a beautiful garden with a pond around the hall.
