Museum of Art in Bremen (Bremener Kunsthalle) is the main art gallery in the city. The building of an art museum was constructed in Bremen in the middle of the XIX century and at the beginning of the XX century has been greatly expanded. Its construction ordered a group of local businessmen. Bremen Art Society, who was found by them, after 150 years still owns the museum.
All this years the collection of paintings of Bremen Kunsthalle has been constantly replenished. Now the museum's collection includes paintings by European artists from the XIV century. There are paintings by Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Cezanne and Vincent van Gogh. Also, there is a wide range of paintings by German artists of the twentieth century.
In 2011, the museum reopened its doors after a renovation.
