Kiel history museum is located in one of the oldest preserved mansions in the city. As the majority of old houses were destroyed during the World War II, the brick building of the beginning of the 17th century is interesting in itself. Original main entrance from sandstone and vaulted cellar attract attention. Museum exhibitions are regularly renewed. They are mainly dedicated to the city history and cultural events of the 19th-20th centuries. Three floors also exhibit works of local artists, posters and samples of crafts traditional for Schleswig-Holstein.
