By 1924, the seminary in Cologne, which was already three centuries old, decayed, and therefore it was decided to move it to Bergisch Gladbach. For this purpose this building was built. Archbishop of Cologne Karl Joseph Schulte initiated its construction. In 1939-1948 this building was used for a military hospital, then again for the seminary.
Now the building is considered a historical monument, it has a conference center and houses the hotel of the Archdiocese of Cologne. This building with an atrium and four towers stands on a hill. Its top floors offer views of the Rhine and Cologne. Sculpture Park is in the area around the building.
