The building, which looks like a ferry, houses a museum of the great artist in drawing and graphic arts of the past century Horst Janssen, who grew up in Oldenburg. He became famous for a large-scale work - 47 cycles of engravings in 4 thousands sheets. Some of them are on display here, along with lithographs, water-colors, wood carvings, as well as personal belongings of the master. There are total of about 2000 exhibits here. Janssen worked in various genres: the museum exhibits portraits, landscapes, erotic illustrations and still-life paintings. Several times a year the museum arranges exhibitions of those who were a source of inspiration for the artist, among them being Goya, Rembrandt, Chagall and Egon Schiele.
