The most significant collection of  the modern art works of East Germany is gatheredin the small Museum of Modern Art, located in the area of a charming Gothic VillaTrowitsch. Here you can see more than 11 thousand showpieces: prints,sculptures, paintings, watercolors, decoration items, devoted to the Sovietperiod, after the division of Germany.

The Museum of Modern Art is part of the local history exhibition siteViadrina (Museum Viadrina) and regularly provides the masterpieces, which itowns, for temporary exhibitions in different countries of Europe. The museumoften hosts original events and installations of young German artists, as wellas historical seminars related to the events of the second half of thetwentieth century in Germany.
