Friedrich Hecker Square (Friedrich-Hecker-Platz) inAngelbachtal is the former parking area for masters’ coaches. The square isnamed after a fighter for equality and revolution figure of 1848, FriedrichHecker, who was born here. He is one of the most famous, even if not the mostfamous native of these places. Today the square is the decoration of the Oldtown. It was paved with stone blocks, and it looks just like a medieval one. Inaddition, many historical monuments are concentrated there.
The former CastleChurch (Schlosskirche) with a beautiful bell tower houses the workshop of alocal celebrity, sculptor Jürgen Gёrtts and his wife. The creativity of Gёrttsis very popular in Germany. For example, his sculpture "Rabbit" is infront of the house-museum of Dürer in Nuremberg. There is another attraction -theformer castle stables-at Friedrich Hecker Square. Today, the exhibition hallis here. The interior of the former stables is restored and equipped witheverything necessary for exhibitions. The heart of the city, Eichtersheim Castle,is very close to the square. There are several cafes on the square, where youcan relax, eat and drink coffee.
