Medieval Flehingen Castle is a nest of feudal lords, afterwhom the village Flehingen is named. Surrounded by a moat, this two-storeybuilding with a square base and four corner towers, was built in the end of XVI- early XVII century on the site of the burned down fortress. Moreover, thewalls of the fortress became part of the new castle. The coat of arms of thecounts of Wolff-Metternich, who at one time owned the castle, was preserved abovethe arched portal. One and a half century ago, the castle was sold to the localauthorities, who opened a school in it. Today, there are already four schools here.
