The Catholic Church of St. Martinis the main temple of the town of Haren and ofthe whole district of Emsland in Lower Saxony.The church is usually called Emslanddom, that is, Emsland Cathedral. Thecurrent Emslanddom is a relatively recent construction. The building was builtin 1911 upon the project of architect Ludwig Becker. Earlier, there was amedieval church on this site, and in the middle of the XIX century – aNeo-Romanesque church, with a bell tower preserved since the XVI century.
The high dome of the templecan be seen from anywhere in Haren. A beautiful organ was installed here in1970. The Church of St. Martin does notstrike with any special luxury, but the inner atmosphere is very solemn. Churchservices are conducted here regularly and organ concerts are arranged. Touristsvisit this church to listen to the organ, take a look at the main altar andinterior details. Outside the church is decorated with religious friezes.
