The building of the XVII century in early German Renaissance is the main antiquarium in the city. It houses Roman-Germanic Central Museum (Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum) with archaeological finds from the ancient Roman era to the Middle Ages. It stores coins, weapons, centuries-old dishware. The restorers’ work will help you know how these exhibits were prepared for the exhibition. Before becoming a museum, the Palace served as a residence of Prince-Elector, barracks, infirmary, customs and library.
