Eichtersheim Castle is the main attraction inAngelbachtal in Baden-Württemberg. This small castle with a round turret lookslike a toy from above. It seems as if it is floating on a green carpet on thesurface of the water. It is connected with land only by a beautiful sandstone bridge.A sea of green is all around. It is a park with old trees and rare plants.The castle was built in the XVI century. There was a construction here untilthat time, too, but it burnt down a century before. The four-storey house is inperfect condition today, just like the park where tourists enjoy walks andpicnics, weather permitting. The Town Hall and a restaurant have been insidethe castle since 1980. In it you can eat, drink coffee or simply take a glassof beer.

Eichtersheim Caslteis also a major center of local entertainment. Almost all important events inthe city life are held there. During the celebration of the Trinity, the whole palacepark seems to be lit from within, thanks to lots of lighted candles. Knights’Tournament attracts guests here annually. The festival participants passthrough the city streets in the garb of knights. Then the Knights gather on a speciallyequipped square for the competition. The contest is a great pleasure both for participantsand spectators. Interesting and unusual are the Scottish Highland Games withstrong men in kilts, heavyweights easily jumping over tall barriers. It is a sportfor real men. The program also includes traditional Scottish dances accompaniedby bagpipes. The palace park also hosts pop and classical music concerts in theframework of the Serenade in the Palace Garden Festival (Serenade imSchlosspark).
