This gallery of Media Art bears the name of not an eminent artist but a secondary school teacher Edith Russ. Being not a poor woman, she willed a large amount to the city for the establishment of a modern art gallery. Actually, it is neither a museum nor a gallery in the usual sense, because there is no permanent but only temporary exhibition. Besides, art is presented in the form media-performances, video, sound and web art. That is, rather discussions than exhibitions are held here. Edith Russ House consists of two buildings: one houses the gallery itself, and the second is an ordinary apartment and studio for artists.
