The Cathedral of Our Lady in Lindau is the main temple of the town. Churches in this place existed since the VIII century, but the fire in 1728 destroyed all the foundations and building which ever stood here. Therefore, it was decided to build a new monumental cathedral. Construction was completed in 1752. It was led by the architect Johann Caspar Bagnato, who decided to build a church in Baroque.
The inside of the Cathedral of Our Lady is richly decorated in Rococo and has two organs of the XX century. Frescoes on the ceiling depict the "Assumption of the Virgin" and the "Adoration of the Magi". The church of St. Stephan, which dates back to the XII century, stands right next to the Cathedral. Not far from the Cathedral there is a City Park (Stadtpark), where you can have a pleasant time.
