The botanical garden in Krefeld was founded in 1927. At first it was a collection of small gardens, which grew into a garden of a gigantic size. There are exotic plants here from around the world, including North and South America and Africa and the Canary Islands.
In the garden there are palmettos, rare orchids and cacti of the driest areas of the world, such as, for example, sub-Saharan Africa. Children will enjoy the so-called Farmer's Garden and the garden plants of the Lower Rhine. There is also a greenhouse with a few vegetables and fruits, as well as boxwood maze, where kids love to run. Entrance to the garden is free. By the way, it is interesting not only in summer and spring, but also in autumn and even in winter: a variety of seasonal plants always bloom here as planned by the organizers.
