The Roman baths of the first century AD with the Roman Museum are the important historical heritage of the Franconian Weißenburg. It is an open-air museum. The baths were discovered here in 1977. The German experts did everything possible to make the visit to the ruins of the former Roman baths most interesting.
There was also a gym (training hall) here in addition to the resting spaces and the baths. Once here, you can understand why the baths were the center of life for the Romans: important matters were discussed here, people learnt the latest news, did sports and rested. At this place, not far from the ruins of Biriciana Castle (Castrum Biriciana), hairpins, amphoras, mirrors and other articles of toilet and everyday life were found during excavations. Now they are kept in the Roman Museum.
