Alpincentre Sport Center in Bottrop is famous for Europe's longest indoor ski-run. The slope’s length is 640 meters, the width is 30 meters. The line construction was initiated by Marc Girardelli- a skier from Luxembourg famous in the nineties. He became the fundraiser of the project with an eventual result of 50 mln. euros!
Alpincenter opened on January 7, 2001. Already five years later, 2,300,000 fans of skiing and snowboarding were recorded in the center. Now the indoor ski center is well known to skiers around the world. Its main advantage is, of course, the fact that winter sports here are possible at any time of the year. In summer, well-known professionals of winter sports come here to keep fit, but most of the center’s visitors are ordinary fans. The park also has a playground for paintball and a rope park. For long-time visitors of Alpinecenter there is a hotel. At the top of the center there is a beer patio with a restaurant, which is considered the highest located restaurant on the territory of the North Rhine - Westphalia.
