"Watermill" Museum of Rural Life: a Glimpse into the Past

The "Watermill" Museum of Rural Life is in areal mill of the XIII century. It is located on the way from Braubach toMarksburg, directly behind the north-eastern gate of the fortress wall. Theexhibition includes farmers’ tools and pottery pieces from different eras. Youcan also see the rooms with rustic furniture and a kitchen with an open hearth.

The museum exhibitionalso includes paintings by Karl Heidenbach, a student of Otto Dix,expressionist painter whose paintings often shocked the public. In general, themill is a good place to listen to the creaking water wheel and think abouteveryday conveniences of modern life.
