There is a viewing platform with a restaurant inside the telecommunication tower.

Dortmund Florianturm's appearance in some way reminds the Ostankino Television Tower in Moscow, only in miniature. At the time of construction in 1959, the building height of 219 meters was the highest in Western Germany.

Transmitters of local television and radio channels are located on the tower. Tourists can find interesting the viewing platform with a restaurant. Florianturm is located away from the city center in Westphalia Park, but the historic center can be perfectly seen from here.
