The city’s botanic garden grew from the private herb garden, created in the XVIII century by Rosenheim pharmacist Johann Rieder. After 200 years, the pharmacist’s descendants sold the garden to city provided that the land would be built up with nothing and would be used as intended. Today it is a large botanical garden, which preserved the pharmaceutical garden with healing herbs. The garden houses an "Alpium" with shrubs and mountain flowers, a rose garden, a stream, plants from different countries and climatic zones.
