Ansbach residential palace is the most luxurious building in the town. In 1731 local feudal lords, margraves of Ansbach built a palace in the place of the medieval castle of Wasserburg. Features of classicism and elements of baroque are distinguished in the architecture of the building. The palace is not so interesting because of its appearance, but rather because of its interior ornamentations, where baroque is fully honoured. Tourists can get inside the palace with an excursion and walk around the festive hall, hall for audience, see the study and bedroom of the margraves of Ansbach. Inside everything looks expressly pompous. It seems like it was the residence of the head of a large state, rather than of rulers of a small town. The first floor of the residential palace is occupied by a museum of porcelain. More than 3000 pieces from porcelain are presented here from the collection of margraves.
